There is really no shortage of Singaporean and Malaysian eateries in Melbourne. The trick is knowing just where the better ones are. In this blog, let us bring you to O’Town, a Malaysian eating place in Glen Waverley.

After seeing numerous posts of the good food served by O’Town in Facebook groups, we knew we just had to visit.

The service staff were quick and attentive. Menus were brought out and we went for the Braised Pork Rice, Satay Chicken Skewers, Kuey Chap and Satay Fried Tofu.

First on the table was the Pork Rice. There was a generous serving of braised pork and a whole braised egg to boot. Paired with the chilli sauce, it was a meal that brought us back to our childhood days.

Next came the Kuey Chap. It certainly looked and tasted authentic. There were numerous pieces of braised pork and innards, enough to satisfy the our innate cravings. One minor point was that the flat rice noodles were slightly hard, compared to the slippery soft ones that we grew up eating.

The Satay Chicken Skewers and the Satay Fried Tofu arrived in quick succession.

We must say that the chicken skewers with the peanut satay sauce proved to be a winner in our books. The fried tofu did not disappoint either. Crisp and airy, the small cubes of tofu went well with the peanut sauce drenched on top.

O’Town has a very wide menu which will keep us going back again and again. It is a no nonsense eating place that certainly has caught our eye and tastebuds!
