The drive to the Mornington Peninsula was enjoyable as most of the journey was via the various freeways. There are plenty (and we mean plenty!) of parking spaces available. With a holiday resort vibe, we effortlessly cleared through the front counter and changed into our bathers.
With many public pools to choose from, one simply needs to wade into the chosen pool and go “ahhh ….” as the warm spring water relaxes tired muscles. The water temperature between pools varies. Some are designated cold pools while the rest range between 36 to 42 degrees Celsius. It is important to note that there are signs encouraging soaks to be not more than 10 minutes each time and to stay hydrated via the plentiful free water refill points scattered throughout.
Soaking in mineral rich spring water is truly enjoyable. You won’t smell the horrid chlorine smell of a typical fresh water swimming pool. Your skin and hair does not get dried out after the experience too.
After soaking and exploring the place for a good two hours, hunger pangs struck but fear not! There are a few cafes within the premises that offer good snacks, drinks and even delectable thin crust pizzas!
Is this someplace we will go back to? Definitely, yes!
